Cosmiante ( mare /Rheinland / dark brown )
Cosmiante is the result of the first breeding
combination of our
Lacoriante focusing on jumping.
The strongly by Landgraf / Ladykiller xx influenced pedigree speaks for itself.
Although we certainly
also expect outstanding movements out of this combination. The foal is long
legged, well-built
with a good shoulder and distinct joints.
Contendro I won his stallion performance test with a jumping score of 147,29
in Adelheidsdorf, his
dressage score of 131,09 was the fourth highest. In 2001 he qualified for the
german
Bundeschampionat.
Up to now 30 of his sons have been approved, including several stallions
finishing second at their
performance test. Captain Fire, from Contendro's very first crop, won the 2006
Bundeschampionat in the
class for five year old jumpers.
Contendros approved son Codex On was sold as the top selling horse
(170.000
Euro) at the Hanoverian Elite-Auction.
But not only Contendro's sons have been successful. Con Pleasure was the
celebrated 2005 OS Champion
Mare and in the following year, her foal by Solitair sold at the 5th OS Elite
Foal Auction in Vechta for a top
price of 40,000 Euro. In the same year, Contendro's daughters dominated the
free jumping competitions in
Verden, three of them finished first place in the classes for four year olds.
Contendro's sire Contender belongs to the most outstanding sires in Holstein.
The life-time earnings of his
off-spring such as the double European Champion, Montender/Marco Kutscher, the
two-time Riders Tour
winner, Checkmate, and the three-time Derby winner, Collin/Toni Hassmann have
run over 3.9 million by
2006.
The dam, Bravo, produced another top sire called Caretano Z (by Caretino), who
became the 1997 Vice
Bundeschampion as well as 1999 World Champion and is meanwhile a successful
international sport horse.
In 2003 Bravo presented her third licensed son, Contendro II, who became
Reserve Champion at his
performance test in Adelheidsdorf in 2004 and qualified for the
Bundeschampionat in 2006. The granddam,
Ofarim, is also the dam of a licensed stallion named Conteur (by Contender),
who took fifth place in 2001
and fourth place in 2002 at the Bundeschampionat for riding horses, as well as
the sport horses Rainman
(by Reichsgraf; Inter I) and Condor (by Campione, a one-star advanced level
jumper).
The Holstein highly successful performance line 104a is also known for
breeding stallions such as Capitano,
Carneval, Celano, Chico’s Boy, Corland, Landego, Landetto, Laurin, Leuthen I
und II, Lonely Boy, Acolord
and many others as well as the top international horses Retina/Fritz
Thiedemann, Athlet and Corlanda/both
Willi Melliger/SUI and Athletico/Ludger Beerbaum.
Lacoriante is several times inbred on Ladykiller xx and has above that a
strongly thoroughbred influenced
pedigree ( Manometer xx, Tin Rod xx, Ultimate xx, Un Prince xx, Earldom xx,
Xebec xx, Cottage Sun xx).
Her father is the Oldenburger premium stallion and finalist of the german
championship Lacoro from
Landfrieden. Landfriedens pedigree combines two of the most influential
Holsteiner stallions, the all time
great stallion Landgraf I and the
successful producer of versatile sporthorses Calypso I. Lacoro's grandsire
Reichsgraf is also the grandsire of Contendro.
Reichsgraf is known for his successful progeny although he
was only available for a short time period.
Lacoriante descends from a very well known dam line. Her granddam VbPrSt Zoliante
going back to the
KWPN stud book, is one of the most successful brood mares of
the Rheinland. She delivered several gold
medal foals, auction highlights and national winners.
She consistently passed on outstanding movements,
for example to the approved full-brothers Dream
of Heidelberg I+II from Donnerschlag.
Dream of Heidelberg II, twice finalist of the german Bundeschampionat, has won
competitions on
Intermediare II and on Grand Prix level. Zoliante's daughter Goliante is the
mother of the approved
Del Vento, reserve winner of his performance test. Her daughter Cami
is the mother of the great moving
Brendula (now Burj al Arab), bought for 141.000 Euro by Victoria Max-Theurer
at the CHIO auction in
Aachen in 2007.
Lacoriante's great-granddam Ramona brought with Eyecatcher (Leslie Burr-Lenehan
USA) and Ewald
(Emiel Hendrix NL) two internationally successful jumping horses and
was awarded the title
'Brood mare of the year' of the Netherlands in 1996.
In the pedigree of Lacoriante's grandsire Sultan (KWPN) you will find plenty
of french thoroughbred as well
as the Holsteiner stallion Joost, going back via Consul to Cottage Son xx.
