Devinio ( Colt, Rheinland / Dunkelbraun / )
After seeing this wonderful foal develop for 4,5 months we had to let him go.
Due to an accident we were
forced to let him put down. He was a very special foal with his friendly and
lively character and will always
have a special place in our memory.
Devinio is the first foal
of our young mare Sadira by Show Star. Rather small at
birth, not unusual for
a first foal, but very long legged, he developed quickly into a little
heartbreaker very interested in human
visitors.
The combination of Don Schufro and Sandro Hits motherline
seems to fit quite well and has for example
resulted in the very successful breeding stallion Diamond Hit. But even more
important is that we brought
with Don Romantic and Sadira two horses together that feature an exceptional
level of rideability, in
both cases also embedded on the maternal side of the pedigree via Romdadour II,
the Westfalian line
founding stallion.
Devinios movements look already quite promissing, he also seems
to have inherited Sadiras very kind and
trusting character.
Don Romantic descends out of a sport proven family, he was consistantly
bred on dressage performance
at its best.
His
sire is the liver chestnut Don Schufro, a brilliant example for a
stallion excelling in sport and
breeding and probably the most successful Donnerhall son. He won the rideability
index, with the score
of more than 150 points at the stallion
performance test in Adelheidsdorf. Following wins in Prix
St.Georges and Intermédiaire I, he has had victories on the international level,
in the Grand Prix class
i.a., in Aachen, Nörten-Hardenberg, Wiesbaden and Lingen. Don Schufro has sired
13 approved
stallions so far, apart from Don Romantic there are also the very successfull
sire Diamond Hit and Don
Laurie I+II. In 2004 he qualified for the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
Don
Schufro achieved for the
seventh consecutive time the number one ranking in the german dressage breeding
index which proves
him to be a worhty heir of Donnerhalls legacy.
The
damsire Romancier,
who has been trained up to Grand Prix level, had a successful breeding debut
in Oldenburg before being transferred to Denmark. His sire Rosenkavalier won his
performance test
and left 21 approved sons and a high number of successful dressage horses above
all the well known
Rubinstein I (40 Grand Prix wins, Olympia 96, 92 approved
sons).
The thoroughbred Mago xx, who
was approved in Holstein appears in the third generation.
Mago xx was
a successful international dressage horse up to Grand Prix level and a member of the Danish
national
dressage team in World Championships and European Championship for a number of years.
Don
Romantic himself champion stallion and winner of the performance test in
2002 scoring 10 for
canter and rideability. One year later champion stallion in Denmark again and winner of the
challenge
trophy of Aage Ravn as well as the gold medal, which has only been awarded to a young stallion
twice
before. At the young horse championships in Denmark he won the final for the four year
old horses with
again a 10 for his canter from judge Kyra Kyrklund.
Out of his first crop of foals he produced a champion stallion in Denmark as
well as two more approved
stallions. In Denmark and Sweden he had several champion foals and highly
successful participants in
tests for three year old horses. We believe that Don Romantic not only produces
outstanding foals but
even more important highly rideable riding horses able to fullfill the
expectation the foal has created.
Sadira's sire is the
German Champion (2001) and Vice Champion (2002) Show Star. He finished his
30 days test with outstanding scores in dressage and jumping (8,43/8,29), he won
the 'Optimum' in
Münster 2002 and finished seventh at the word championships for the young
dressage horses in 2003.
Show Star sired several approved stallions in his first breeding years and highly priced progenies at the
westfalian elite auction 2007 (140.000, 120.000 Euro) as well as the top seller
2008 (195.000 Euro).
In
December 2007 he finished second in the Nürnberger Burgpokal a dressage series seen as the national
championship for
upcoming young dressage horses ending with a Prix St Georges Special.
Show Stars sire is the for his breeding and sport performance well known Oldenburger Sandro
Hit. Himself
German Champion of the six years old dressage horses (1999) and Worldchampion of
the young dressage
horses in Verden, on top sire of another german and world
champion, the exceptional Poetin I.
Sadira is the first foal
of Floria (by Florestan) descending from the Westfalian dam line of the state
premium
mare
Radina from Romadour II. Radina won in 1982 the DLG Show in Munich and is one of
5 full-siblings out of the combination of the Westfalian StPrSt Goldie (DLG Winner herself) and the
Westfalian line founding stallion
Romadour II. Two other full-siblings of Radina are
the approved stallions
Renoir I and II.
Radina's full sister Ribella is the grand-dam of Rapalla, winner of the elite
show of the Rheinländer stud
book 2000 and winner of the mares test in
Aachen (outstanding score 9,14). Rapalla again is the dam of
Samira
from Sandro Hit, the breathtaking winner of the Bundeschampionship for 6 year old dressage horses
in 2007.
Sadira's grand-dam the VbPrSt Contesse from Cor de la Bryere received a gold
medal at the mares
registration. She produced elite auction foals as well as a foal
reaching the final round of 10 at the
german foal championship. Contesse's half-brother Limerick 42 from Landino
competed in dressage up to
Intermediaire I.

“I
must say my best horse ever is a son from Don Schufro, Don Romantic,
he won the licensing as a four year old, and that horse is now six....Don
Schufro is good, but that horse is amazing, an unbelievable horse.
